By Road

Bandhavgarh is about 1,050 km from Pune. The route through Nagpur – Jabalpur – Umaria is the most direct and scenic. The drive takes around 18–20 hours, depending on stops.
Travel Tip: The easiest option is to fly to Jabalpur Airport and continue by taxi to Bandhavgarh for a comfortable and time-saving journey.

Best Time to Book Bandhavgarh Tiger Safari Packages

Booking your Kanha safari from Pune early ensures a smooth and memorable experience. Since only a limited number of jeeps enter the park each day, permits often sell out weeks or even months before the travel date.

The park remains open from October to June, with each season offering something special.

  • October to February: The forest is lush and green after the monsoon, perfect for photography and bird watching.
  • March to June: Summer brings excellent tiger sightings as animals gather near water sources.

It’s best to plan your trip four to six months in advance, especially if you want specific safari zones or popular lodges near the gates. Early planning gives you the advantage of better safari timing, preferred accommodations, and a relaxed travel experience.
